The Batley Community Centre is run by a not for profit, registered charity, that has been serving the local community throughout Batley for over 60 years. We celebrated our 60th birthday in 2023.
The Centre is used on a weekly basis by a number of groups which are open to new members. These include, but are not limited to, dance groups, art classes, keep fit, Weight Watchers and a lunch club. Several of the activities are run to tackle loneliness and isolation in people over 50 through locally recruited volunteers, but the Centre is available for use people of all ages.
We rent rooms for weekly groups, and one time rentals for private functions like birthday parties and anniversaries. The centre is also available for corporate events at very competitive rates.About Us
The Group operates on a drop-in basis and has a volunteer member of staff available to act as advisor and helper.
Access available to the main genealogical web sites and help available to use them. Sites include Ancestry, Find My Past, Census Returns and local Baptism, Marriage and Burial Records.
We are a long established club of around 40 members, meeting weekly between September and May. Our aim is to share our common love of photography in a friendly atmosphere where our more experienced members are always willing to share their knowledge and help develop beginners.
