Room Hire

We have two rooms for hire - a large hall with a stage (the Mary Bateman Hall), and a meeting room. The kitchen area is shared by all users and includes a cooking range, sinks, fridge, microwave, kettles, and a hot water boiler. There are also basic crockery and cutlery available for users.

The Centre is equipped with free wifi with access throughout the building.

The Hall also has audio visual facilities available (including a hearing loop). This provides Bluetooth connectivity to play music from mobiles, tablets etc. along with a projector and screen which is ideal for presentations when using a laptop. Please enquire when booking and note that an additional deposit may be required to use these facilities.

Mary Bateman Hall

An ideal space for larger groups with a capacity of up to 100 people.

Entry into the Hall is directly from the car park. There is a small stage at one end of the room with a lobby at the oposite end providing access to toilets and a smaller meeting room (Green Room), which can be hired separately.

The Hall has audio visual facilities available with Bluetooth connectivity to play music from mobiles, tablets etc along with a projector and screen which is ideal for presentations when using a laptop.

Green Room

An ideal space for smaller group meetings with a capacity of up to 30 people.

Entry is directly from the car park or through the Main Hall (when both are hired together).

Room Hire Rates

The rates are per hour for one-off, single use bookings. These rates apply to new, secured bookings for events taking place after the 31st August 2024. A booking is not secured until a refundable deposit of £50 is taken (cash or bank transfer). The balance will be invoiced at the end of the month the event takes place.

Booking a Room

In order to make a reservation, the booking form should be completed and returned to the Bookings Manager. A deposit is required to confirm the date and time and this may be withheld if the building is left untidy, damage is caused, or the booking is cancelled without allowing 5-days’ notice. All damages, stains or removal of equipment will be chargeable on top of the refundable deposit.
Booking Form Terms & Conditions

Please leave the building as you find it
Kitchen area:
  • Users are welcome to use the kitchen and facilities therein though this may not be exclusive if both rooms are in use
  • DO NOT place large pots on worktops or the cooker and, when placed on the floor, please ensure suitable protective mats/thick cardboard is placed underneath the pots to protect the floor
  • Consider bringing your own cleaning equipment, kitchen towels etc. Tea towels are not provided
Main Hall:
  • Tables and chairs are available for use but please ensure that furniture is carefully moved to avoid marking the floor
Green Room:
  • No hot food allowed in the carpeted meeting room
General:
  • PLEASE DO NOT use Blu Tack or tape of any kind to adhere posters etc. to the walls as this damages the decorations
  • No outside equipment / machinery can be brought in without agreement from the Centre Manager, equipment must be PAT tested and safe to use
  • PLEASE NOTE: To comply with our insurance policy, Bouncy Castles are NOT permitted in the building
Health & Safety:
  • Centre Users are expected to prepare their own risk assessments and give copies to the Trustees
  • Please note the fire safety procedure and exits, ensuring you keep a register of attendees that is kept by the designated lead person in case of a fire; this person is responsible for safely escorting people out of the building
  • The accident, incident, near miss reporting folder is in the labelled kitchen cupboard; please inform Centre staff asap
  • The first aid box is situated in the labelled kitchen cupboard
  • PLEASE NOTE: CCTV cameras, both inside and outside the building, are recording 24 hours/day for your personal safety and security
All WASTE MUST BE TAKEN AWAY as we do not have the facility to dispose of any waste at the Centre.

We allow free use of kitchen but this may not be exclusive if both rooms are booked out at the same time.
